Planity Booth - MCB Paris Trade Show - 117m²
Planity is an online booking and management platform for hair salon professionals. At MCB, the premier trade show for professional hairdressing in Paris, the brand targets salon owners accustomed to large-format printed stands and cosmetic brand environments. Planity needed something different: a meeting space, not a storefront. A place where people stop because they want to come in, not because they are stopped by a salesperson.

The challenge entrusted to AUKARÉ was pure production: the stand was designed by Planity’s in-house designer, and the AUKARÉ team handled the entire fabrication and assembly process. The brand’s brief: a full-height 5m construction, total black, maximum meeting space, fluid and visible reception, a photobooth area, a podium demonstration zone, and a storage room. The complexity for the AUKARÉ team was entirely technical: maintaining a 5m height, integrating an LED floor path embedded in the ground, assembling the moucharabiés (manufactured in the workshop and assembled on-site) within tight deadlines, and planning for the installation of a 5m LED screen at the back of the storage area. All this within a stand designed from the start to be stored, reused, and resized from one trade show to the next.
This project is part of a multi-show strategy pushed to its limit: the same structural base deployed across 6 trade shows in Europe in a single season.
What the team has created
6 trade shows deployed on the same structural base: 117m² MCB Paris, 36m² Estetica Brussels, 36m² Beauty Forum Munich, 66m² Beauty Düsseldorf, 70m² Top Hair Düsseldorf, 36m² Nouvelles Esthétiques Paris. A true creative and logistical challenge. AUKARÉ produced a stand entirely in matte black painted MDF, structured by a series of 5m full-height arches arranged on the front and sides. These arches feature two alternating types of infill: solid arched panels for access points, and arches adorned with moucharabiés—panels cut with a geometric pattern that subtly incorporates the Planity "P," manufactured in the workshop by the AUKARÉ team and assembled on-site. The floor integrates an embedded LED path, with light lines flush with the ground that guide traffic and establish a technological atmosphere within the all-black environment. The interior of the stand is designed as an open café: high tables and black stools, all in black furniture, in maximum numbers to multiply seating and standing conversation areas. At the back of the stand, the rear walls of the storage area house the software demonstration podium with its 5m-high LED screen, a technical zone supported by audio and video staff present all weekend to manage the shows. Full-height textile-finished visuals at 5m and the Planity logo in white neon lettering integrated into the high fascia complete the look.

Architecture & materials
Matte black painted MDF is the stand's sole material, without exception. Walls, arches, moucharabiés, custom furniture: everything is in the same black, with no break in material. This choice of a single material and a single color, in a hairdressing trade show where stands explode with colors and different references, is in itself a very high-end positioning statement. The moucharabiés are one of the project's complex fabrication pieces: cut in the workshop according to a precise geometric pattern that reveals the Planity "P," they were transported as panels and assembled on-site within the arches. The particularly short assembly time at MCB required meticulous site organization to maintain this level of finish within the allotted time.
Colors & identity
There is only one color: black. The texture of the matte painted MDF, the cut of the moucharabiés that let light from the aisle pass through, the LED path on the floor, and the white neon lettering of the signs create levels of perception that give depth to a monochrome palette. The full-height textile-finished visuals, featuring portraits of women on a light background, are the only chromatic break in the stand: they anchor the brand in the world of hairdressing after the architecture has imposed a tech universe.
Technical features
The technical floor, a requirement for supporting the 5m arches and integrating the LED path, was laid over the entire surface before any assembly. The LEDs embedded in the floor draw a luminous path that guides traffic without the need for signage, amidst the ambient darkness of the stand. The 5m LED screen at the back of the demonstration podium allows Planity to present the software in a show format, in a spectacular scale consistent with the height of the stand. The audio and video technical support provided throughout the weekend ensures that the setup runs without interruption during the shows.
Visitor experience & journey
Remote attraction: in an MCB hall saturated with colors and printed signs, the 5m-high all-black volume stands out as a unique architectural block. The white neon "PLANITY" lettering is legible from the cross-aisles. The moucharabiés allow light from the interior to filter through, creating a lantern effect that intrigues from afar.
Invitation to enter: the stand is completely open, the arches follow one another without barricade counters, and the density of high tables inside immediately signals a convivial space rather than a sales area.
Engagement and conversion: once inside, the hairdresser settles at one of the many high tables, in a relaxed conversation format with the Planity team. Software demonstrations take place on tablets or on the podium's LED screen for collective shows.
